Our Head of Modern Languages, Dr Caroline Murie, is delighted to share the news that Glenalmond has had double success in a prestigious competition run by The Queen’s College, Oxford University.

Two of our pupils – James SF (French) and Ellie A (Spanish) – have emerged as the top entries from Scotland in the Anthea Bell Prize for Young Translators.

The competition, inspired by the life and work of the great translator Anthea Bell, aims to promote language learning across the UK and to inspire creativity in the classroom.

More than 1,000 entries were received and the two Glenalmond winning entries for Scotland will now go forward to the UK final.

Well done both, this is a fantastic achievement.
