Former pupil Jamie Sandison (Skrine's, 1978-82) and his two sons, Rory (Skrine's, 2012-17) and Charlie (Skrine's, 2008-13), also Old Glenalmonds, are pictured here after successfully completing the London Marathon at the weekend.

Charlie put an in outstanding performance and was placed 24th in the mass start in the Virgin London Marathon producingh a personal best time of 2 hours 25 minutes.

Charlie ran in 2019 but, having picked up an injury the week before the race, he pulled out around mile 18 - an incredibly gritty effort.

Despite his great disappointment, Charlie honored an earlier commitment to address the girls, boys and parents at the Glenalmond Sports Dinner the following week, and he spoke about having to learn from setbacks. He has certainly done that.

Also running, were his youngest brother, Rory Sandison (2012-17) who placed in the top 400 at 2h39 and their dad at 3h03’ - both personal bests.

The Sandison trio were sorry not to have third brother, Angus Sandison (2010-15), with them as he is also an accomplished runner, but is currently working in Singapore.

Well done and congratulations from us all!
