Glenalmond today bid a very fond farewell to Rachael McGuire, Matron of Matheson's House, who is this week retiring after a remarkable 27 years of loyal service.

In a heartfelt thanks to Rachael, Ed Phillips, Housemaster of Matheson's, paid tribute to her loyalty and compassion, saying she would be sorely missed.

"Nothing was ever too much for Rachael. Whether it was last-minute stitching of trousers or magicking up a pair of rugby boots, she always found an answer and always, always had time for the boys," said Ed.

Rachael is pictured above with Matheson's Housemaster, Ed Phillips, and former Housemasters George Pounder, and John Wright and below with the Glenalmond matrons' team.
